Clarence Bell and The Fellas

While having brunch  in downtown Pensacola, I was mesmerized  by the sultry sound of  Clarence Bell and The Fellasperforming at Five Sisters Blues Cafe. This was my first opportunity to see them perform live. They performed cover tunes by artist such as, Lionel Richie, Stevie Wonder, and Ray Charles, just to name a few. Clarence Bell once played back-up for Stevie Wonder. This group is a staple in the local jazz scene. The group consists of Clarence Bell, Tom Latenser, and Steve Ferry. Five Sisters is located at 421 W. Belmont St. Pensacola, FL.  Here are a few images  I captured of this great trio.

A sweet day with Honey Gun

Alternative, bluesy, rock, all these describe but a portion of the musical style and genius of Eric (Fly Boy Wonder), Aaron ( The Smooth Grunge Piper), Manny (Tin Man), Paul (Bass Level), and Byrd (Old Dude-Drummer Boy), who make up the Local Pensacola Alternative Band, “Honey Gun” (BTW, I made up  those nick-names, without their permission).  These guys are well on their way to stardom. They even have their own tour bus! I was thrilled when they asked me to shoot images for their new webpage. Me and my trusty side-kick, my baby boy, Torrey (well, he’s 18, but he’s my baby dude!) packed up and headed to the City of Five Flags to spend an afternoon capturing images around this fabulous town with five of the coolest dudes anyone could meet.

“It’s been a journey, but I can’t wait until we can get to the point where music is all we do”, says Aaron, lead singer for Honey Gun. They are not far from that, receiving tremendous accolades from their expansive fan base in the city of Pensacola.

Being true artists, they knew exactly what they wanted from this session. It also didn’t hurt that I’d worked with them before, on their first photo-shoot. They definitely love their city and their fans! It was important that we took photos in locations that the fan-base would recognize so we went to some of the more recognizable locations in downtown P’Cola, where the “Hipsters play”.

Keep and eye and an ear on this group. I’m glad to know them, before they walk the red carpet to receive some prestigious awards! Success is absolutely a part of their future!
